Northbound on the last bus out
the windows full of rain
I wrote your name in the steam on the glass
and watched it run again
There's a hymn in the engine
if you listen long enough
all the way north, all the way north
and it never feels like enough

Tracklist
Liner notes
Our first album was recorded in a church hall in Govan over three weekends, on two microphones and a piano that belonged to the Sunday school. We paid for the hall with a bake sale and a promise to play the Christmas fair, which we did.
There was no budget for anything else. Moira hung one microphone from the balcony and set the other in front of the band, and that is the whole sound. When a bus went past on Govan Road, we started again. Bus Station Hymn kept a bus in, because the take was too good to lose.
Self-released
We pressed three hundred copies, sold them at shows and posted the rest by hand. It found its audience slowly, mostly through people lending it to each other.
The piano is slightly out of tune on every song. We like it that way.
